Earthquake in Chile

Earlier this morning, I read on the Internet that an 8.8 magnitude earthquake had hit Chile. Back in January of this year, an earthquake leveled much of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I really believe that the Lord is warning the United States that a big earthquake is coming to our shores. Probably Las Vegas or the San Francisco area will get hit. There is too much sin in this country.

If sin was hidden in a closet, that would be one thing, but sin is so flaunted in this country it makes you sick. Abortion and homosexuality are sins that many people don't even think about any more. The Lord told Adam in the Book of Genesis to "subdue the earth." We have enviro-nazis telling us to stop drilling for oil, to stop mining coal, to stop harvesting trees and the fairy tale of global warming is rammed down our throats by psuedo-scientists.

If you look at Romans Chapter 1, it is very clear that when man began to worship the creation more than the Creator, that He would give them over to a reprobate mind. There are too many reprobate minds in power in the United States. They need to be driven to their knees and submit themselves to the saving power and Lordship of Jesus Christ. A couple of earthquakes may do the job.

Romans 1: 18-32: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

I was hitchhiking on U.S. 20 in Nebraska several years ago and this truck driver picked me up. He was a Christian and we had some great fellowship. He told me something very interesting: he said that most people think that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by the Lord because of the sin of homosexuality. Homosexuality was one of the sins. The great sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was that they worshipped the creation more than the Creator. Sounds like the tree hugging enviro-nazis of the United States today.

I would like to say, "Lord, have mercy on the United States." But I can't. The Lord needs to judge parts of the United States because of sin. So be it. Then after all of the destruction, maybe then people will turn their hearts back to God.

Wrath of God: The Black Death

A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century
By Barbara W. Tuchman
Copyright 1978. Chapter 5.

“‘This is the End of the World’: The Black Death”

Page 92: “In October 1347, two months after the fall of Calais, Genoese trading ships put into the harbor of Messina in Sicily with dead and dying men at the oars. The ships had come from the Black Sea port of Caffa (now Feodosiya) in the Crimea, where the Genoese maintained a trading post. The diseased sailors showed strange black swellings about the size of an egg or an apple in the armpits and groin. The swellings oozed blood and pus and were followed by spreading boils and black blotches on the skin from internal bleeding. The sick suffered severe pain and died quickly within five days of the first symptoms. As the disease spread, other symptoms of continuous fever and spitting of blood appeared instead of the swellings or buboes. These victims coughed and sweated heavily and died even more quickly, within three days or less, sometimes in 24 hours. In both types everything that issued from the body—breath, sweat, blood from the buboes and lungs, bloody urine, and blood-blackened excrement—smelled foul. Depression and despair accompanied the physical symptoms, and before the end ‘death is seen seated on the face.’

“The disease was bubonic plague, present in two forms: one that infected the bloodstream, causing the buboes and internal bleeding, and was spread by contact; and a second, more virulent pneumonic type that infected the lungs and was spread by respiratory infection. The presence of both at once cause the high mortality and speed of contagion. So lethal was the disease that cases were known of persons going to bed well and dying before they woke, of doctors catching the illness at a bedside and dying before the patient. So rapidly did it spread from one to another that to a French physician, Simon de Covino, it seemed as if one sick person ‘could infect the whole world.’ The malignity of the pestilence appeared more terrible because its victims knew no prevention and no remedy.”

Page 93: “Rumors of a terrible plague supposedly arising in China and spreading through Tartary (Central Asia) to India and Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, Egypt, and all of Asia Minor had reached Europe in 1346. They told of a death toll so devastating that all of India was said to be with no one left alive. As added up by Pope Clement VI at Avignon, the total of reported dead reached 23,840,000. In the absence of a concept of contagion, no serious alarm was felt in Europe until the trading ships brought their black burden of pestilence into Messina while other infected ships from the Levant carried it to Genoa and Venice.”

Page 94: “Although the mortality rate was erratic, ranging from one fifth in some places to nine tenths or almost total elimination in others, the overall estimate of modern demographers has settled—for the area extending from India to Iceland—around the same figure expressed in Froissart’s casual words: ‘a third of the world died.’ His estimate, the common one at the time, was not an inspired guess but a borrowing of St. John’s figure for mortality from plague in Revelation, the favorite guide to human affairs of the Middle Ages.

“A third of Europe would have meant about 20 million deaths. No one knows in truth how many died. Contemporary reports were an awed impression, not an accurate count. In crowded Avignon, it was said, 400 died daily; 7,000 houses emptied by death were shut up; a single graveyard received 11,000 corpses in six weeks; half the city’s inhabitants reportedly died, including 9 cardinals or one third of the total, and 70 lesser prelates. Watching the endlessly passing death carts, chroniclers let normal exaggeration take wings and put the Avignon death toll at 62,000 and even at 120,000, although the city’s total population was probably less than 50,000.”

Page 103: “To the people at large there could be but one explanation—the wrath of God. Planets might satisfy the learned doctors, but God was closer to the average man. A scourge so sweeping and unsparing without any visible cause could only be seen as Divine punishment upon mankind for its sins. It might even be God’s terminal disappointment in his creature. Matteo Villani compared the plague to the Flood in ultimate purpose and believed he was recording ‘the extermination of mankind.’”

Page 104: “Beyond demons and superstition the final hand was God’s. The Pope acknowledged it in a Bull of September 1348, speaking of the ‘pestilence with which God is afflicting the Christian people.’ To the Emperor John Cantacuzene it was manifest that a malady of such horrors, stenches, and agonies, and especially one bringing the dismal despair that settled upon its victims before they died, was not a plague ‘natural’ to mankind but ‘a chastisement from Heaven.’ To Piers Plowman ‘these pestilences were for pure sin.’”

Page 109: “The hostility of man proved itself against the Jews. On charges that they were poisoning the wells, with intent ‘to kill and destroy the whole of Christendom and have lordship over all the world,’ the lynchings began in the spring of 1348 on the heels of the first plague deaths. The first attacks occurred in Narbonne and Carcassonne, where Jews were dragged from their houses and thrown into bonfires. While Divine punishment was accepted as the plague’s source, people in their misery still looked for a human agent upon whom to vent the hostility that could not be vented on God. The Jew, as the eternal stranger, was the most obvious target. He was the outsider who had separated himself by choice from the Christian world, whom Christians for centuries had been taught to hate, who was regarded as imbued with unsleeping malevolence against all Christians. Living in a distinct group of his own kind in a particular street or quarter, he was also the most feasible target, with property to loot as a further inducement.”

Page 123: “The plague accelerated discontent with the Church at the very moment when people felt a greater need of spiritual reassurance. There had to be some meaning in the terrorizing experience God had inflicted. If the purpose had been to shake man from his sinful ways, it had failed. Human conduct was found to be ‘wickeder than before,’ more avaricious and grasping, more litigious, more bellicose, and this was nowhere more apparent than in the Church itself. Clement VI, though hardly a spiritual man, was sufficiently shaken by the plague to burst out against his prelates in a tirade of anger and shame when they petitioned him in 1351 to abolish the mendicant orders. And if he did, the Pope replied, ‘What can you preach to the people? If on humility, you yourselves are the proudest of the world, puffed up, pompous and sumptuous in luxuries. If on poverty, you are so covetous that all the benefices in the world are not enough for you. If on chastity—but we will be silent on this, for God knoweth what each man does and how many of you satisfy your lusts.’ In this sad view of his fellow clerics the head of the Church died a year later.

“‘When those who have the title of shepherd play the part of wolves,’ said Lothar of Saxony, ‘heresy grows in the garden of the Church.’ While the majority of people doubtless plodded on as before, dissatisfaction with the Church gave impetus to heresy and dissent, to all those seeking God through mystical sects, to all the movements for reform which were ultimately to break apart the empire of Catholic unity.”

I piped to you
But you did not dance;
I mourned to you,
But you did not weep.

I abide
In the furnace of God.
My breath
Is the fire of Heaven.

A writer once said,
You look
Like Leo Tolstoy.
It’s your eyes,
He said.
Your eyes . . .
. . . like Leo Tolstoy.

A circle of fire
Surrounds me
Protecting me
From Satan’s arm,
Warning me
Of Satan’s charm,
Keeping me
From Satan’s harm.

An intense burning
Within me
Is stoked by
The Word of God.
A deeply felt yearning
Within me
To warn them
Of the wrath of God.

Isaiah, Jeremiah and Elijah,
I know you well,
Because I am baptized
With the same
Holy Ghost Fire
That empowered you
And kept you from Hell.

Jesus died
So that
I can see
Events
Before they are born.
I was birthed—
Not of flesh
Nor of the will of man—
I was birthed
In violence
By the Precious Blood of God.

His body was pierced
So that my eyes
Could pierce
The dark night of Adam
And help unblind the blind.
The white-hot heat of Heaven
Is the color
Of my sight
That leads us upward and onward,
Spirit-filled warriors of mankind.

Las Vegas Earthquake

Dreams from the LORD 2003-2006
17 December 2006

Yesterday I hitchhiked from Elko, Nevada through Salt Lake City to Evanston, Wyoming on I-80. The two guys that took me to Evanston from Coalville, Utah bought me a meal at the Flying-J Truck Stop. From there I walked into town and checked my e-mail at the library. I then walked three miles north of town and found a pickup camper to sleep in. I believe it got down to 0 degrees F last night. It was also very windy; I am sure the wind chill factor was around -20 degrees F. Some snow even blowed into the camper. I stayed warm. (I think it is kind of humorous how the Lord always finds places for me to sleep.)

Last night, as I slept in the camper, I had a very vivid dream concerning the destruction of Las Vegas. I am guessing that an hour or so before this dream, I was attacked by Satan as I was sleeping. I was dreaming and in the dream I was walking down this street when all of a sudden I was tackled and thrown to the ground by a powerful, unseen force. This force or evil presence threw me down and beat me up pretty good—it even tried to pull the hair off of my head. When I woke up, I was still paralyzed by this evil presence and it was beating me up—the pain was real. The evil presence finally left and I went back to sleep.

Later on that night I had another dream and in this dream I was in a city square with hills all around it. It looked like a European city during the Middle Ages. There were many people in the city square. I was walking around with several friends. Then I saw the Pope (he looked like Pope Benedict—the present Pope) dressed in a white robe and wearing a white cap. My friends and myself walked up to the Pope and I told him that Las Vegas was going to be destroyed. Then the Pope got this surprised look on his face and started to point at my friends and me and said, “I haven’t seen you in church (which meant they didn’t go to a Roman Catholic church).” I then rebuked the Pope and told him that these people go to Christian churches. The Pope then got all bent out of shape and walked away.

I then separated myself from my Christian friends and walked through the town square. Then this woman yelled at me, “Shut up, Tim!” I walked past these Swiss Guards (that are used at the Vatican in Rome) (maybe I was in Rome) who were wearing funny-looking, striped uniforms and armed with swords. They were doing some outlandish rituals and I asked, “Why are you doing such ridiculous rituals?” and “Why are you doing such stupid bullshit?”

I walked away from the city square and the crowds of people and walked to the top of this hill overlooking the city. I looked in the direction of Las Vegas (it was on the side of the hill just opposite of where I was at) and all of a sudden the ground began to rumble and shake. I looked at Las Vegas as the earthquake swallowed it up. The cities and towns next to Las Vegas weren’t even touched. When Las Vegas was destroyed, it looked like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle was removed and shoved underneath the rest of the puzzle. Then these huge rocks fell from heaven and pummeled the ground where Las Vegas used to be. I then raised my right arm in triumph and shouted, “Praise the Lord! Las Vegas is destroyed! Las Vegas is destroyed! Thank you, Lord! Las Vegas is destroyed! Las Vegas is destroyed!” Then the dream ended.

"Omg!! I had a vision about Las Vegas EXACTLY like yours, except I was awake! I live in Vegas. Have my hole life. I was at a bus stop on Charleston and Pecos around 10 or 11pm. Wile I was standing there waiting for the bus, I noticed everything around me seamed to be fake. Like it wasn’t really there. I mean nothing looked different, but it just felt out of place. That’s when the night became day, (I think it was day), and I saw/herd the chaos unfold. It was horrible! Buildings falling, cars crashing, people screaming, and dying. I remember seeing the sky glowing red from fires that broke out, and all the smoke in the air. I was seeing/hearing all this, but no one could see me see. The thing I remember the most was the screaming! It felt like it went on for ever! I just wanted it to stop! When it was over. Only like a minute or 2 had passed by. I stood there in shock for awhile trying to compared what had just happened. When the bus came, I kept thinking about it, and the more it sunk in. When I got off the bus, I called my mother telling her what happened wile trying not to freak out to much, but when I told her about the death I saw and the horrible screaming of people. I broke down crying. completely confused on why I saw what I saw. My mother said she seen the same thing in a dream awhile ago, and that God was trying to prepare me for what was coming. I asked her why didn’t he show me in a dream? She said maybe you would have thought of it as just that, a dream. So I said next time God needs to show me something so horrific, he can so in my sleep. In a way that I know is no ordinary dream. That was my 1st vision. I now have had 5 total. 2 wile wide awake, and 3 wile I was asleep. My 1st one happened when I was 20. I’m 25 now."

Shiloh

Shiloh
By Tim Shey

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.

Hitchhiking in Nebraska

High Plains Drifter typescript

High Plains Drifter: A Hitchhiking Journey Across America
By Tim Shey

Excerpt from Chapter Five:

Psalm 18: 19: “He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.”

In May of 1997, I hitchhiked west towards Nebraska. I have always loved going through Nebraska. In all my travels, I believe that the people of Nebraska and Texas were by far the best people I have ever met. Nebraska was in my comfort zone. Whenever I had been wandering out west and came out of Wyoming and into Nebraska, I felt that I was back on my home turf. The people of Nebraska are gold, silver and precious stones.

I got some good rides all the way to Osmond, Nebraska. It was getting close to sundown when this guy driving a tractor picked me up.

"You can sit on the fender if you want," he said.

"Sounds good to me," I said.

He drove me to Plainview and we talked about the things of God and the Bible. He asked me what I was doing. I told him that I just quit my job and thought I would hitchhike by faith and see where God would take me. He offered me a job right there. He had his own construction company and lived on a farm with his wife and kids. I told him I would love to work for him, but that God was calling me out west for some reason. We stopped in Plainview and we shook hands. I hopped off the tractor and I got a motel room.

The next morning this tractor-trailer picked me up.

"I'm going all the way to western South Dakota," he said. "I got five drops: three in Nebraska and two in South Dakota."

We stopped at three places in Nebraska and I helped unload his van--he was hauling some small trees and shrubs. We got to a truck stop near Kadoka, South Dakota and he told me he would buy me some supper.

We were eating supper when he looked at me and said, "You know, right before I picked you up I saw this man pointing at you. It was like he was telling me to pick you up."

"What?" I exclaimed. "I didn't see anybody out there. I was alone.”

"I saw him plain as day. When I picked you up I didn't see him anymore."

I was flabbergasted. So I sat there and wondered and looked out the window and asked him, "Do you think he was an angel?"

"He must've. It was the strangest thing I ever saw."

On our trip we talked a lot about the Word of God and certain preachers on TV. He lived in Sioux City and was very well self-educated. I enjoyed talking with him. After supper he said he was going back to the sleeper and get some sleep. I took a long walk—for two or three miles—out in the country. Lots of grassland; it was beautiful.

I walked back to the truck and the trucker was sound asleep. He had a double-decker sleeper, so I got in the top bunk and turned on the VCR. From midnight till four in the morning I watched two films. The first film was The Professional—it was about the life of a mafia hit man and a twelve-year-old girl named Matilda. It was very good. I forget the other film.

The next day we stopped in Rapid City and Spearfish and we unloaded his truck. He bought me breakfast and I hit the road.

Zion is My Home

Dreams from the LORD 2003-2006
6 April 2005

Psalm 50: 2-3: “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.”

Zion is the Presence of God. Zion is our home; Zion is where the Lord wants His saints. It is not: well, I’m saved, and when I die, then I’ll go to heaven. We are called to bring heaven to earth: to bring Zion (the Presence of God) to earth to tame it and civilize it. What demon can stand in the Presence of God? The Holy Ghost Fire burns up the wood, hay and stubble of Satan.

Out of the Presence of God, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined. The world defines beauty probably as physical, fleshly perfection; the Lord defines beauty and perfection as abiding in the Presence of God. When we abide in the Presence of God, this is where God shines through us. In the Presence of God, our life becomes effortless: when we obey the Lord, the world can see the Lord working through us. They see God, not us. It is a God-work, not a man-work. My Father works and I work. God working and breathing through us because we are abiding in Zion. A son of Zion. When you see me you see the Father.

“Our God shall come and not keep silence.” The Lord doesn’t have to use words to speak: it is His Presence that speaks, and if we abide in His Presence, He will speak volumes through our lives. People will say: I perceive that thou hast been with Jesus, when they see your life.

“A fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.” What will the fire devour? The flesh, the world and the devil: these three cannot stand before the Presence of God and live: they will fight to the death to preserve their lives, especially in unbelievers and lukewarm Christians. “It shall be very tempestuous round about him.” Satan does not lamely lie down when he sees the Holy Ghost believers come his way: he will fight against you with every weapon that he’s got. Satan will lie, tempt, assassinate your character; he will try to kill you. Our greatest weapon: a sword with two sharp edges: the Holy Ghost and the Word of God. When we abide in Zion, no weapon from hell can touch us. When we abide in Zion, the Lord will shine through our lives and conquer sin because we are the perfection of beauty, the apple of His eye.

Zion is my home.

Montana to Nebraska

Looks like I will be staying with some friends here in Valentine, Nebraska for a few nights. I just hitchhiked from Montana around four days ago. I traveled through North Dakota and South Dakota on U.S. 83 on my way to Nebraska. I may head back west on U.S. 20 when I leave Valentine. It has warmed up quite a bit from a couple of days ago.
